The Malta International Boats & Yachting Awards are hosted by MBR Publications Limited, a leading publishing, media/PR and marketing agency and event organiser. What makes our awards different to other yachting awards?

Unlike all MBR Publications Limited business awards, The Malta International Boats & Yachting Awards are not judged by a panel. Short-listed entries are presented online and voting will be open to industry professionals as well as Mainsail and Malta Business Review readers, clients and customers. Step with us into the world of boats and yachting, including luxury yachts and superyachts. Does your dream, spirit of adventure, design, outstanding achievement, value and innovation cross the boundaries? Focusing on boats and yachting, we celebrate the best that the local industry and maritime community offers. Whether any boat or yacht project is concep- tual or has already been built, we are also introducing an award for outstanding interior and exterior designs.

The Malta International Boats & Yachting awards offer a number of award categories. There are 24 categories, which makes this the most comprehensive, largest boats and yachting award programme ever conceived and executed in Malta.

The Malta International Boats & Yachting Awards are able to leverage the experience and expertise of an influential sector of national opinion makers to determine award winners.

The Malta International Boats & Yachting awards are unique in the depth of expertise they draw on from their extensive judging community as well as the Advisory Board who steer the judging selection process and work to maintain the awards at the highest standards in Malta. “Design is a gift, and those who can unleash it effectively are worthy of praise… we will be celebrating designers, creators, innovators, achievers, contributors and anyone who merits in the boats and yachting, maritime, shipping and logistics industry, including agents, distributors, wholesalers and all who have done outstanding deeds in the business and nature of boats, yachting and maritime industry in Malta,” said Martin Vella, one of the organisers.

An audience of over 300 local and international guests is expected on the final night of the grand gala award ceremony. The luxury brand for men Avel & Men is launching its products in Malta for the first time during the gala evening and international guests include Loro Piana regatta organisers, boat builders from Pisa, Italy, as well as representatives from Genoa Boat Show and Monaco Boat Show, coming for the first time to Malta and reflecting the international nature of this great event. A super yacht will also be berthing nearby the venue chosen for the final gala evening and guests will be also entertained on board this super yacht. Furthermore, Maltese designed boats will be on show during the gala evening red carpet event.

Vella added: “we shall be honouring and celebrating the skill, bravery and dedication shown by many volunteers in the most demanding circumstances, as well as sailors and mariners, boat racers and pilots, whose dedication and accomplishments are truly remarkable.” Vella said that this year a press conference will kick off proceedings, “in front of a packed crowd, looking back at a spectacular year, which has seen innovations in kit and boats and some stellar performances from sailors and classes alike. It has truly been a year of evolution for the marine industry and nowhere was this better reflected than in what we are doing and by the way we are contributing, without having any hidden agendas or political influence, and by giving a truly genuine and committed service to the boats and yachting industry”.

Occurring appropriately right after the Rolex Middles Sea Race, this event is honouring the creative talents, leading brands, top products and leading yacht designs.
