Bus services switch to winter schedule

-

Malta Public Transport announces that as of today (1 October) the bus service will start operating according to the winter schedule.

Route X1A has been introduced again this winter to serve Ċirkewwa, Mater Dei, University and MCAST in Paola, between Monday and Friday.

In order to reduce journey times, routes passing near the MaltaPost Head Office and going towards Marsa Park & Ride will be diverted after the bus stop, “Qaddisin”, in order to avoid the Qormi roundabout. These routes include: 61, 62, 63, 64 and 74 departing from Valletta; 110, 117, 120, 121, 135, 204, 206, 209, 210, 218 and 226 coming from Mater Dei hospital; and the X1, X2, X3 and X4 routes heading towards the airport.

Similarly, routes 120, 121, 204, 206, 226, X2 and X3 heading towards Marsa Park & Ride are being diverted to pass by the Turkish cemetery in Marsa in order to avoid congestion in Aldo Moro Road. Passengers travelling to Mater Dei hospital or University of Malta will be served by the bus stop “Ottoman” in Marsa, instead of the bus stop “Moro”.

Route 13A is being modified in order to serve the Valletta – St. Julian’s route, terminating next to Pender Place. Route 13 will continue to serve the Valletta – Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq route, while TD 13 offers a direct connection between St Julian’s and Valletta, bypassing the Sliema area.

The new schedules will be available online on publictransport.com.mt. Due to these changes the ‘Journey Planner’ on the website and on the tallinja app will be temporarily unavailable until the updates are in place. During the coming days, Malta Public Transport will also be updating all timetables on every bus stop in Malta and Gozo.
