Awards for the Con­cours d’El­e­gance

The MTA chair­man Dr Gavin Gu­lia was re­cently in­vited to at­tend the ninth edi­tion of the Malta Clas­sic, which took place be­tween 5 and 8 Oc­to­ber, to present the win­ners of the Con­cours d’El­e­gance with their award.

The Malta Clas­sic is made up of three events, the Mel­lieha Hill Climb, the Con­cours d’El­e­gance and the Md­ina Grand Prix. In to­tal 60 cars par­tic­i­pated in the var­i­ous events. Of these 60 par­tic­i­pat­ing cars, 15 were brought from abroad, to­gether with their driv­ers and crew, from coun­tries such as France, Italy, Switzer­land, Aus­tria and the UK.

Dur­ing his visit on 6 Oc­to­ber, Dr Gu­lia was shown around all the par­tic­i­pat­ing vin­tage cars that formed the Con­cours d’El­e­gance part of the Malta Clas­sic. Dr Gu­lia then went on to present the tro­phies to the win­ners of this stage of the event.

Fol­low­ing the pre­sen­ta­tion of these awards, Dr Gu­lia said: “Events are one of our great­est at­trac­tions, par­tic­u­larly in the non-sum­mer months, and the Malta Clas­sic presents the op­por­tu­nity for many to travel to Malta to view some in­cred­i­ble clas­sic cars, with spec­ta­tors com­ing from all over Europe as well as from Ja­pan and the US.”

Dr Gu­lia con­tin­ued by prais­ing the or­gan­is­ers for go­ing a step fur­ther than just or­gan­is­ing the event, as they took all for­eign par­tic­i­pants for a visit to Gozo be­fore the com­pe­ti­tion started. Dr Gu­lia con­cluded by thank­ing all the stake­hold­ers in mak­ing this event and all sim­i­lar events pos­si­ble and au­gured all the best for the fu­ture.
