Talbot & Bons live music marathon raises over €4,000 for the Salesian Brigade

-

The music has fallen silent, the lights are back to normal but the long-term benefit of the third edition of the 60-hour live music marathon, held last month at Talbot & Bons, Sky Parks Business Centre, Malta International Airport, is just beginning.

Having kicked off on Friday, 20 October 2017, with Airport Impressions, the charity fund-raiser drew to a successful conclusion with a band that featured Ira Losco, Ivan Grech and Glen Vella, among other established artists who entertained the enthusiastic crowd present for the closing.

Organised by Talbot & Bons in collaboration with Entertainment.com.mt, with Yobetit.com as the main sponsors, with over €4,000 raised going to children and youths who wish to learn music within the Salesian Brigade.

Over 180 musicians – established and up-and-coming artists and bands – took part with no fewer than 51 hourly slots being filled by live local talent. The other nine hours were open mic sessions with impromptu bands forming on stage! Among those who took part were such familiar names as Debbie Scerri, Brodu, Crosswalk, Dumtak, Falling Stars, Claudia Faniello, The Crowns, Lyndsay Pace, Mistura, Nadine Axisa, Ozzy Lino and a host of others.

Amy Talbot, Director of Talbot & Bons, expressed the gratitude of all the team who worked tirelessly for what has been achieved. “It was another memorable weekend raising funds for those who would like to learn music. I would like to sincerely thank all the artists for their valuable input. It’s great to see musicians and other professionals, such as sound engineers, photographers and others, all coming together for a good cause,” she said.

“The public who visited our premises, enjoyed the music and made their donations are also due their credit. Donations are still ongoing and SMS numbers will also stay open, hoping that the charity aspect will not stop during this weekend but will be a continuous effort throughout the year.”
