MAPFRE employees help out at Inspire Foundation

-

MAPFRE Malta and Inspire Foundation collaborated in yet another Corporate Social Responsability Activity.

In an event last week, a number of employees from MAPFRE Middlesea and MAPFRE MSV visited Inspire Foundation in Marsascala ( Razzett tal-Ħbiberija) and spent some hours volunteering, helping in the works currently being carried out in the park. This event forms part of MAPFRE’s volunteer programme, in which MAPFRE employees allocate some of their working hours to help out in the community.

Inspire is a non-profit organisation that leads the way in providing therapeutic, educational and leisure services to persons with disabilities in Malta and Gozo. Through close relations with parents, government and the business community it assists those who are excluded helping them gain equal access to independence, education, employment, leisure and an inclusive community.

“At Inspire Foundation, we depend on voluntary giving and volunteers to continue providing support to those in need. We are truly grateful to MAPFRE for helping us both financially and through such volunteering activities. It is great to see companies give back to the community in which they operate in,” Shirley Zammit, Fundraising Manager at Inspire Foundation said.

Fundacion MAPFRE, a nonprofit institution of MAPFRE Group, also sponsors the running costs of the Multi-Sensory Rooms at Inspire Foundation – a service being used by over 400 children and adults with a disability. The MSR Rooms were built purposely to help treat children and adults with Sensory Processing Disorder (SDP) - a condition in which an individual’s sensory signals do not get organised into appropriate responses, making everyday activities a challenge to perform. Last year, Fundacion MAPFRE donated €44,000 for the running costs of these theatres for a year.
