University of Malta MBA students launch first high-quality shaving blade subscription service with free delivery

Convenient and up to 50% Cheaper than the ‘Competition’ – No direct alternative

-

Two students from the University of Malta’s Executive MBA programme have partnered with Zaar, Malta’s crowdfunding platform, to launch MaltaShaveClub.com – the first subscription shaving blade service in Malta – and are looking for your support ( www.zaar.com.mt/projects/maltashaveclub).

Dirty and dull blades make for a painful and unhygienic shaving experience. Therefore, while engaged on a start-up project in Dr Massa’s entrepreneurship class, Joonas Karhu and Stan Filin decided to bring an internationally proven business model to Malta and Gozo. The founders believe that shaving shouldn’t be so costly and that customers shouldn’t waste their time running around from store to store looking for the best price for expensive replacement blades.

Before the real launch, there were three key points the founders wanted to address, which is why they are piloting the project on Zaar. First, they have ensured that the razor blades are of high quality – apart from their research and deliberations, the founders sacrificed their own faces to rigorously test a variety of different razors from many manufacturers before settling on a high quality in- ternational supplier. Second, the price point had to be much lower than that of the competition. Third, regular delivery had to be free and convenient – reliable and sent directly to the subscriber’s door.

With MaltaShaveClub.com, customers will receive four razor blade cartridges and a free, quality, sleek black handle including a stand, in their first order. Subsequent deliveries will include four fresh high-quality three-bladed or five-bladed razors directly in their mailbox once a month, depending on the options selected. Currently, one can take advantage of special pre-launch discounts on Zaar.com.mt. These discounts include up to three months of shaving free of charge. “Zaar.com.mt is a great local crowdfunding partner, and we are pleased to be working with them to launch our product. Meanwhile, the University of Malta MBA programme has helped us think critically and outside the box. After months of research, work, and testing, we are very excited to finally launch MaltaShaveClub.com and we need your support to do so” – Joonas Karhu and Stan Filin. The crowdfunding campaign is on www.zaar.com.mt/projects/maltashaveclub You can reach the founders by sending an email to stan@maltashaveclub.com Thank you for your support and welcome to Mal-
