U&Co Social Café – The New Place to Socialise or Just Relax – it’s all about U!

U&Co Social Café recently opened its doors in the new and prestigious Pendergardens Retail Podium in the heart of St. Julians.

With a Vision to “create memorable hospitality experiences which are delivered in an authentic and unique way”, United Group recently launched their new subsidiary United Catering. The goal of this new venture will be to create new casual dining hospitality concepts in Malta.

The first of these concepts is U&Co Social Café. “We felt that there was a gap in the market for a high-quality café experience in Malta. We are focussing our efforts in establishing U&Co Social Café to become known as ‘ THE’ Meeting place for either a quick cup of coffee and healthy breakfast before work, a friendly brunch or sharing of a quality glass of wine after work. Everything from the open design of the space to the flexibility of our chef in tailoring healthy menu items for our guests is about delivery of a quality experience with minimum fuss, ensuring there is something for everyone all day long. We have taken time to invest in our U&Co Social Café team in order to make them feel engaged in the experience we wish to deliver with this new concept. The entire team participated in developing the Values and the experience we want to achieve” says United Group Chief Executive Officer, Edmund Gatt Baldacchino.

The ‘U’ in U&Co is significant and helps to provide a further explanation of the concept. From the moment you walk in you get a sense of a down-town, New York bistro with lots of space and a minimalist approach to design. The U is also symbolic of the desire to create a space where individuals or groups feel comfortable and relaxed in either connecting with the outside world with the complimentary Wi-Fi provided, or with friends and colleagues whilst enjoying a light snack, beverage or meal.

The venue has a feeling of openness and space with a mezzanine level and outside seating. The upper level can be used for small meetings, celebrations or any event. Sandro Vella our General Manager and Chef Mark Borg will be happy to create a bespoke menu for any occasion.

For those worrying about finding parking, there are comfortable parking facilities at the Pendergardens public car park, right beneath U&Co Social Café.

U&Co Social Café opens each day from 07:00 and is open throughout the day serving delicious breakfast, snacks, beverages, lunch, after-work refreshments and dinner, using the freshest of produce.
