Unilever donates €10,000 to Puttinu Cares Foundation

-

Unilever has a simple but clear purpose – to make sustainable living commonplace. The multinational company believes this is the best long-term way for the business to grow. With Valletta being the 2018 European Capital of Culture, Unilever wanted to celebrate with the public by giving back to the Maltese community. Anyone who purchased any Unilever product from stores across Malta and Gozo during June and July chipped in towards the donation.

“Our ethos is that we want to help create a world where everyone can live well within the natural limits of the planet. We put sustainable living at the heart of everything we do including through our brands activations and product offering, our standards of behaviour within and beyond Unilever, and our partnerships which are driving transformational change across our value chain. We firmly believe that Puttinu Cares is instrumental in creat- ing value for the local Maltese community and through our commitment towards this Foundation and the help of the Maltese consumers, we wanted to make a difference to the lives of children in need – And we are!” Janeen Lalli, spokesperson at Unilever said.

Dr Andrew Decelis from Puttinu Cares thanked Unilever for its support. “We rely heavily on donations such as these in order to live up to our mission. Our work in the community would not be possible without the assistance and initiatives of such organisations from the private sector. This invaluable contribution will help raise funds to support an increasing number of children and families who are going through very difficult times.”

The Puttinu Cares Cancer support group was set up in 2002. This group offers a holistic approach of care giving to families with children suffering from cancer.

Participating brands imported to Malta by George Borg Limited and M&Z (Marketing) Limited included Dove, TRESemme’, Comfort, Persil, Knorr, Algida and Hellmann’s respectively. For more information, visit youbuywegive.com.mt.
