The deceiving undercurrent

-

The enactment of the recent IVF Bill was the culmination of a chain of laws which strike a discordant note with our traditional Christian heritage. Therefore, whatever is said or done seems to be crying over spilt milk, but I still feel it incumbent upon me to not remain silent, as I never have been on these sensitive issues.

As far back as 18-16-13, I had written that same-sex partners’ legitimate rights are theirs and they are entitled to them, but any form of ‘marriage’ would only be a parody of what is purely natural, does not make sense and goes straight against the laws of God and nature. But who is John Azzopardi? He is an ordinary man in the street with no credentials – a total ignoramus.

I am just prompted by the present Poe’s I think this should be ‘Pope’s’ pertinent remark: “when a need is noticed, even if the solution isn’t immediate (or seems impossible – my words) there is the need to start to move.”

I am also heartened by the surprise news from Bermuda where, in the short space of six months, the Supreme Court’s legislation in favour of same-sex marriage was revoked by Parliament.

I may have enjoyed Malta’s summer blue skies on our beaches, long sunny days relishing classic and operatic music and following the drama of the World Cup in my spare time or leading an ordinary stress-free life by and also think this should be ‘but’ a nagging feeling is impairing my apparent piece of mind because there has been a crippling siege on our way of living and traditional family upholding the age-old Christian doctrine, which our siblings and future generations will find lacking.

Have pity on us, O Lord, have pity on us, for we are more than sated with contempt; Our souls are more than sated with the mockery of the arrogant, with the contempt of the proud – Psalm 122.

Thou shalt not follow a multitude to the evil – Exodus 23:2
