Renowned Maltese tenor Cliff Zammit Stevens will soon celebrate the 10th anniversary of his extensive career with his largest annual concert in Malta to-date and tickets for this highly-anticipated event are now on sale.

For one night only, the talented tenor’s open-air concert will take place at St George’s Square, in the heart of Malta’s capital city and European Capital of Culture 2018, Valletta.

As well as being supported by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by Mro Philip Walsh, Cliff will be joined on stage by special guest star Ira Losco. Among a number of beautiful songs on the night, the duo will perform their new release, Xemx.

“The concert programme is a very vast repertoire, from classical music to current pop hits,” explains Cliff. “I am thrilled to have Ira join me as my special guest this year and we will be performing Xemx live on stage. It promises to be an unforgettable evening of music, positivity and awareness.”

This vibrant celebratory concert also marks the launch of The Marcy Foundation, which was set up by Cliff to honour the memory of his mother, Marcelline, and aims to provide guidance and support to victims of domestic violence, drug abuse, mental health, HIV and child abuse.

While all proceeds from the concert and from the single Xemx will go towards The Marcy Foundation, this performance is especially meaningful for Cliff. “This year means more to me than any other concert – it is going to be a very emotional performance. For this is the first concert that the most important person in my life, my mother, will not be there; this will all be for her. I will be celebrating the Foundation and my mum’s incredible life that unfortunately, was taken away so unexpectedly. My mother’s legacy lives on through The Marcy Foundation.”

Returning to Malta where he was born and raised, the popular tenor’s largest solo concert ever will celebrate an illustrious decade-long career that has featured performances in operas and concerts across Europe, including the Theatre de Champs-Élysées in Paris and the Royal Albert Hall in London.

“I am so looking forward to it. This is a new venue for me and having Ira Losco – a true superstar – joining me, makes it all the more meaningful. The support I receive year after year from the Maltese public is overwhelming – where better to celebrate this anniversary in my career than with a concert under the stars in Malta?”

The Cliff Zammit Stevens 10th anniversary concert is supported by Valletta2018 and sponsored by Intercontinental Malta and BOV.
