Naxxar settle for a draw against Qrendi

Naxxar had to settle for their second consecutive draw of thre season, even though dominating for long stretches against Qrendi.

For Qrendi this was their first point of the season after their negative start against Santa Lucija were they lost 3-0.

Qrendi had a dream start taking the lead after only five minutes play when Silveira da Silva rounded off the goalkeeper before putting at the back of the net.

Naxxar produced a great forcing to get the equaliser and wnet close with an Angus Buhagiar header finishing against the crossbar.

They also had a Meilak goal disallowed and a Mohamed Belhadj shot cleared off the goal line before obtaining a deserved equaliser through Jur- gen Debono from the penalty spot.

Naxxar continued to attack even in the second half, but they just could not find a way past a packed Qrendi rearguard, with Saturday Nanapere almost getting a dramatic winner late in the game.
