Fgura United are in the fourth round on the FA Trophy, after rather surprisingly beating First Division side San Gwann.

San Gwann were fresh from their first seasonal victory against Zebbug in the league and were expected to keep the momento and move forward in the competition.

But Second Division side Fgura had other ideas as they won the contest thanks to a Thomas Grech fourteen minutes from time.

Fgura had beaten Ghaxaq 4-1 after extra time in the second round, but will now face an almost impossible task against the in-form Hibernians side, Premier League joint leaders.

Fgura have nothing to lose at the stage, and will try to stage one of the biggest upsets in the history of the competition against their neighbours.

Two matches postponed

Meanwhile yesterday’s two other matches from the third round of the FA Trophy which were scheduled for the Hibernians Stadium have been rained off.

These matches will now be played tomorrow Monday at the Centenary Stadium Ta’ Qali as follows: 6pm Vittoriosa S v Tarxien R 8.15pm Sengla A v Mosta
