Emirates celebrates Australia Day in Malta

● Emirates currently operates 13 daily flight to/from Australia ● In the past 20 years, Emirates carried over 150,000 passengers between Malta and Australia

Emirates airlines celebrated Australia Day in Malta with local media journalist­s and editors at Chukkas restaurant. Right from the start in 1998, Australia was and still is an important and strategic destinatio­n for Emirates Airlines. Over the past years, the airline has provided a seamless daily link and carried over 150,000 passengers and cargo, to and from Malta.

Addressing the media journalist­s, Emirates country manager, Paul Fleri Soler said: “Today Emirates operates 13 daily flights to and from Aus- tralia. These currently include a quadruple-daily service to Sydney, triple-daily service to Melbourne and Brisbane, a twice-daily service from Perth and a daily service from Adelaide. Furthermor­e, in 2018, following a code sharing agreement with Qantas, Emirates has increased its coverage on this continent.

While thanking the media for their continuous support, Fleri Soler, added: “We are proud to have created a daily connection for Maltese travellers to Australia and beyond. During the past years, the airline has continued to reaffirm its commitment to Malta by steadily increasing its passenger and cargo capacity to meet the growing demand.”

With Emirates, Maltese trav- ellers to Australia can seamlessly connect via one stop at the airline’s modern and convenient Dubai hub. The daily Malta-Larnaca-Dubai flight is operated by an Emirates Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in a three-class cabin configurat­ion, with eight Private Suites in First Class, 42 lie-flat seats in Business Class and 310 spacious seats in Economy Class. The Dubai to Australia haul is operated by an Airbus A380 or a Boeing 777.

Customers travelling on Emirates can look forward to the highest levels of care and comfort, from the warm hospitalit­y of Emirates’ multinatio­nal cabin crew, including over 60 Maltese, to being entertaine­d by its award-winning in-flight entertainm­ent system, Ice, which offers over 1,000 movies as part of its over 4,000 channel selection. Customers using the Emirates app can create a personalis­ed playlists and sync the selection once on board.

Customers also enjoy chef prepared meals and compliment­ary beverages, while families are also well catered for with dedicated products and services for children.

This year, Emirates launched its bold new brand promise inviting travellers to “Fly better”. The brand promise is aimed at driving innovation and being better, throughout all facets of air travel.
