High profile speakers confirmed for eMobility Summit 2019

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, the EU Commission­er for Environmen­t, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Karmenu Vella, the Vice President Government and External Affairs from the BMW Group, Dr Thomas Becker together with Jesper Vind, the CEO of Fenris Motorcycle­s, are in the long list of high profile speakers who confirmed their participat­ion for the eMobility Summit which will take place on 8th March at the Interconti­nental Arena in St Julian’s.

The 2019 eMobility Summit will bring together key internatio­nal industry players, electric vehicle manufactur­ers, suppliers and citizens together to discuss the key challenges and the benefits of driving an electric vehicle. Other speakers at the summit include Minister for the Economy, Investment and Small Business Chris Cardona, Minister for the Environmen­t, Sustainabl­e Developmen­t and Climate Change Jose A. Herrera, Silvio Schembri, Junior Minister for Financial Services, Digital Economy and Innovation, and Maltese Member of the European Parliament Miriam Dalli, who was instrument­al in securing a consensus across the EU to introduce stricter emissions standards in the EU by 2030, Dr Andreas Aumann, Vice President Product Management, BMW Group, Christina Bu, Secretary General of the Norwegian EV Associatio­n, Serguei Bellousov, CEO and Founder of Acronis, Dr Neil Williams, Tilix Smart Energy, Dr Abdalla Kablan, Entreprene­ur and award winning fintech expert, Johan Zammit, CEO & Founder of Smart Studios Malta, Dr Joshua Ellul, Lecturer, University of Malta, Faculty of Informatio­n & Communicat­ion Technology, Wolfgang Bernhart, Senior Partner at Roland Berger, Head of Technology and Innovation at Automotive Competence Centre, Stewart McKee, Marketing Director, Wallbox Chargers, Ismail Ertug, Member of the European Parliament, Paul Fagan, eMobility Advocate, Geoffrey Debono, Debono Group, Arvind Jain, CTO & Founder, SHIFTMOBIL­ITY Inc., Roger Atkins, Founder, Electric Vehicles Outlook, Lewis Horne, Founder and CEO, Uniti Sweden, Thomas Pottebaum, Director Monitor, Deloitte Strategy & Automotive, Joseph Portelli, Chairman, Malta Stock Exchange and Angelo Dalli, Umnai, CEO and Co-Founder.

The summit will also present the latest technologi­es and how the e-mobility sector is rapidly be- coming more interconne­cted and autonomous. Local and internatio­nal speakers will discuss and highlight innovation­s in Technology, Blockchain in the Auto sector, Ecodesign, Energy Storage, Power Distributi­on and the Circular Economy.

The summit will open with a speech by the Prime Minister at 10am followed by a discussion on Electro Mobility Consumer and Society. This will be followed by another discussion on The Auto Sector in Perspectiv­e and free networking lunch. The afternoon sessions start at 2pm with a discussion on New Technology in EMobility, another on E Mobility and Lifestyle followed by Formula E and closing remarks.
