New Merill GBP hedged share class launched

-

Following the success of the Merill SICAV plc, which has now surpassed €70 million in assets under management, Jesmond Mizzi Financial Advisors Ltd has announced the launch of a new GBP hedged share class under the Merill High Income Fund.

The purpose of this share class is to allow investors who are long in Sterling or in Holdings denominated in GBP, which invest predominantly in UK assets, to diversify their portfolio by investing in a fund with a wider sectorial and geographical exposure. The net asset value (NAV) of the share class will be hedged against GBP thereby eliminating the EURGBP currency pair exposure.

The Merill SICAV plc is incorporated as an open-ended collective investment scheme, registered in Malta, qualifying as a Maltese UCITS in terms of the UCITS Directive, and licensed by the Malta Financial Services Authority. The Fund is self-managed; however, the day-to-day investment management of this new GBP hedged share class will also be managed by the team of professionals at Jesmond Mizzi Financial Advisors Ltd.

“In view of the uncertainty surrounding Brexit and its possible repercussions on UK focused investments, direct holdings or collective investment schemes, we felt the need to extend our product range. This will enable both our existing and prospective clients to diversify their sterling denominated portfolio to a more global exposure, in an active management approach,” stated Jesmond Mizzi, Managing Director of Jesmond Mizzi Financial Advisors.

This new Merill High Income Fund: GBP hedged ‘distributor’ share class aims to provide quar- terly income and potential for capital growth.

As an introductory offer to all clients, the initial fees to invest in this new GBP hedged share class will be discounted to one per cent for all applications received until 29th March, 2019. The first trading date is 18th March 2019.

Mizzi added: “We strongly believe in the importance of diversifying investments and that they are actively managed on an ongoing basis. Investing in funds is an ideal way of reaching this goal and this is why we are now providing the opportunity for further diversification of investments on an international level.” Merill SICAV plc is incorporated and licensed as an open-ended Collective Investment Scheme, registered in Malta, qualifying as a Maltese UCITS in terms of the UCITS Directive with effect from 16th October 2015.
