Will you be joining this year’s chilly challenge in aid of charity?

-

Are you ready for a chilly challenge and support the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation? The Thomas Smith Annual Charity swim, a much-awaited annual event and now in its 21st year, will once again be held off the pier by Independence Garden, Sliema, on 29 December, under the patronage of the Office of the President.

The aim of the yearly Charity swim is to encourage the public to participate and raise as many funds as possible in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation. On the day, registration starts at 9.30am and the swim is to commence at 10.30am.

Participants have to fill in a registration form at one of the desk points – one on the promenade and a smaller one by the swimmer zone. Alternatively, beat the queues by downloading the registration form in advance, fill it in and bring it to the desk on the day. A registration form for minors can also be downloaded. Visit

www.tcsmith.com/christmas-charity-swim/ for full details.

Any contribution is welcome, however, we encourage swimmers to raise €50 prior to the swim. Encourage friends, family and colleagues to join you or ask them to sponsor your heroic gesture with a donation to help you raise more money.

Medals are awarded to each participant personally by The President of Malta once the swim is over, to mark the act of kindness. Coffee, whiskey and sandwiches are distributed to help swimmers get their vigour back.

In 2018, 233 swimmers of all ages braved the wind, jelly fish, and cold winter sea in Sliema to raise funds for charitable causes.

Ever since its inception, Thomas Smith Group together with the

Charity Swim donations have collected just over €120,000!

Thomas Smith aims to collect even more funds this year and is once again encouraging more swimmers to brave the cold waters.

Those who cannot attend the Christmas Charity Swim but still would like to donate can forward their contribution via bank transfer to the following account: HSBC Bank (Malta) plc, 32, Merchants Street, Valletta. Account No.: 033-080037-002; Swift Code: MMEBMTMT; IBAN No: MT MT04MMEB44336000000033080 037002.
