The COVID-19 pandemic is creating different realities on many dimensions and businesses that want to survive and thrive need to embrace change and adapt quickly. APS Bank took this challenge as the theme for the Annual Offsite of its senior management team. Over two days of presentations, brainstorming sessions and group-work the team received insights about how to plan and manage a bank in the new normal through a format which allowed the management members to strengthen their relationships at both professional and personal level.

The residential event, held at The Hilton Malta, saw a number of experts being invited to share their knowledge and experience with the team. Moderated by management consultant Ivan J. Bartolo, speakers included psychologist Patrick Psaila, executive coach Sharon Mulligan from PsyPotential and Hugh Harper, partner at EY UK with a presentation on The Banking Sector in the Post-Pandemic New Normal. Radi El Haj, CEO of RS2 Software, was a keynote speaker who presented how his group has been navigating through the pandemic adopting an agile approach. Senior APS Bank management members complemented the Offsite with their own specific interventions.

Commenting on this year’s Offsite, CEO Marcel Cassar remarked: “In these challenging and uncertain times there are still great opportunities if we are agile, smart and efficient in the way we manage. And as Winston Churchill once famously said ‘kites rise highest when they fly against the wind’.”
