Beyond the Moon launches this year’s edition of The Perfect Gift Fair – Mother’s Day
Following the success of the charity’s Christmas Perfect Gift Fair, the upcoming event has also gone online due to the prevailing pandemic
Children’s charity Beyond the Moon is happy to announce that this year’s The Perfect Gift Fair – Mother’s Day 2021 has gone virtual in the footsteps of The Perfect Gift Fair – Christmas 2020 edition, which raised €1,160. The Mother’s Day fair is live and will run until 9 May. Proceeds will go to the same philanthropic cause.
Beyond the Moon is an international charity based in Belgium that offers seriously ill children and their families the chance to go on a cost-free dream vacation. And while the online Mother’s Day fair will continue to raise much-needed funds, it will also give local artisans and small businesses the opportunity to promote their products on social media platforms against a minimal donation. Various artisans and businesses are already on board.
“The ongoing restrictions brought about by Covid-19 continue to impact our fund-raising plans,” acknowledges Marisa Xuereb, Beyond the Moon sponsor ambassador for Malta. “However, we are pleased that our efforts can continue online. The success of our Christmas edition of the Perfect Gift Fair has been immensely encouraging and we look forward to an equally successful campaign for Mother’s Day.”
This year, Mother’s Day will be celebrated in Malta on 9 May and the Perfect Gift Fair offers an extensive selection of beautiful and unique gifts to choose from. Items on offer include handmade jewellery and crocheted finds, tote bags, candles, cushions and other pieces for the home, luxurious toiletries and some wonderful works of art.
“Artists and artisans are still in time to participate in the fair, while we welcome visitors to the site to find that perfect Mother’s Day gift,” continues Xuereb. “In the meantime, as the vaccination programme continues unabated, we look forward to the day when life gets back to normal and we can use the funds we raise to once again organise holidays for sick children and their families as a respite from the daily struggles they face.”
