Vassallo Group Realty, the property arm of the Group recently unveiled a painting by local artist Luciano Micallef as part of Zvart at the Landmark in Qormi. Zvart, an acronym for Zaren Vassallo Art (initiative) encourages companies within the Group to invest in pieces of art to adorn property owned by the Group or property in which the Group is currently operating in and simultaneously supporting local artists.

The painting is an abstract piece entitled Transitions and is the fourth piece of art since its launch in December with different companies within the Group joining this initiative.

Present for the event were the hosts Group chairman Nazzareno Vassallo and Vassallo Group Realty CEO Ruben Vassallo and director Jackie Cordina, artist Luciano Micallef, Zvart chairman Charlo Bonnici and members Stephen Borg and Joe Saliba as well as various directors, management and staff of

Vassallo Group and Vassallo Group Realty.

In a message for this occasion Vassallo pointed out that despite the challenges of Covid-19 the Group decided to go ahead with this initiative throughout the year also to support local artists and art which was also adversely affected by the pandemic and the downturn in the economy.

Zvart was launched in December 2020 at an event during which a painting by artist Dione Borg of Vassallo’s late brother and former director, Ġużeppi Vassallo, was unveiled at Villa Amodeo, the chairman’s office as part of Vassallo Group’s 75th anniversary celebrations.

A second work of art by renowned ceramist Paul Haber was inaugurated at Learning Works, the Group’s training arm, as part of the same initiative. The third, a sculpture by Wallace Falzon, entitled The Heart Giver, was unveiled at the CareMalta head office in Mosta.
