Nine brand new books in the Rumanzini series
A veritable feast of new characters and adventures has just landed at Merlin Publishers thanks to nine brand new books in the Rumanzini series.
This series is one of the more popular children’s series and this success, along the years, has led to it being further expanded with more titles to choose from. There is something for everybody – whether you like pirates, ballerinas or princesses from faraway kingdoms or enjoy sci-fi and adventures in outer space. Moreover, children are finding it very hard to resist these books as they come with vibrant colour illustrations and a large and comfortable font size, which make reading an enjoyable non-intimidating experience even for those who normally are not at ease reading in Maltese.
In fact, this is one of the strongest characteristics of this series: children who are not usually drawn to read in Maltese, find these books very appealing; in both the storyline and the visual packaging, and are tempted to give these books a go.
Children between seven and 11 will find the adventures and mysteries in these books captivating and will be excited to spend what is left of the summer holidays lost in their favourite fantasy world.
The books in the Rumanzini series are graded across three levels of reading difficulty: the first level, L-ewwel pass, is meant for children aged seven years and over. These books will assist children in gaining confidence in reading in Maltese and overcome that fear and anxiety of the first attempts.
The second level, Pass pass, is designed for children aged eight years and over. These children would have started reading on their own and therefore these books are ideal to continue to build their confidence and read their very first book unassisted.
The third level, Pass ta’ ġgant, is for children aged nine years and over, who are now confident independent readers and feel proud with the amount of reading in Maltese they manage to do on their own.
These new books – three in each level – join the other 15 books previously published in the same series. Some of the books are sequels, like the muchloved Sara Ballerina with two new stories and the third and last book in the trilogy of It-Tifel Dragun. The other stories all come with brand new characters to explore and get to know.
Originally written in French, these books have been translated into Maltese by Loranne Vella and Antoinette Borg.
The Rumanzini series is perfect for children to acquire more confidence in reading in Maltese. Short chapters, flowing language and a comfortable font size are the winning ingredients to form the new generation of children who enjoy reading in Maltese.
All the books in the Rumanzini series are available from all bookstores or online from www.merlinpublishers.com
