Maltese animated series ‘Dalam Valley’ receives a nomination at the International Festival of Animation organised by Rai

The nomination at the Cartoons on the Bay festival serves as a testament to the exceptional quality and innovation displayed in the pilot.

The spark that inspired the story originated from the archaeological evidence of prehistoric fauna exhibited in the Għar

Dalam museum in Birżebbuġa. Dalam Valley transports viewers to a moment in Maltese prehistory when the islands are connected to the mainland due to lower sea levels. The world of Dalam Valley is filled with endearing characters, gripping narratives and charming animation. Drawing inspiration from diverse cultural influences and weaving together a tapestry of adventure, humour and emotion, the series promises to immerse audiences by its original storytelling.

Rai Com organises the International Festival of Animation, Transmedia and Meta-Arts, Cartoons on the Bay, to support and showcase the current landscape, developments and new trends in the sector of media and entertainment. The 27th edition of the festival will be held between 31 May and 4 June in Pescara, Italy.
