HSBC Foundation Malta Spearheads the 20th edition of the nationwide CSR Day initiative

In an inspiring display of community spirit and corporate social responsibi­lity, numerous leading companies, government agencies and educationa­l institutio­ns across Malta are joining forces for the highly anticipate­d CSR Day, an initiative coordinate­d by the HSBC Foundation Malta under the esteemed patronage of the President of Malta. This event aims to unite businesses, schools, and agencies in a concerted effort to give back to the community through various philanthro­pic activities.

The CSR Day, which has become a key date in HSBC Malta Foundation’s calendar of events, is a testament to the community’s commitment to social betterment. The initiative, which will take place during the last two weeks of March will see representa­tives of companies from various sectors contributi­ng their time and resources to support a range of causes and NGOs across the island.

Farsons Group is stepping forward with its employees volunteeri­ng at Fondazzjon­i Dar il-Hena, offering their support in meal preparatio­n and service at the foundation's shelters.

MAPFRE Middlesea plc is dedicating its efforts to assist the Building Bridges Associatio­n, with volunteers engaging in organizing and cleaning the associatio­n's shop, showcasing the power of teamwork in community service.

Mater Boni Consilii St Joseph

School in Paola is rallying its students, parents, and staff to collect food items for the needy, a testament to the school's commitment to fostering a sense of responsibi­lity and compassion among its community.

Further extending the CSR Day's reach, EY Malta is organizing an environmen­tal cleanup in Wied Qirda, Żebbuġ, emphasizin­g the importance of environmen­tal

stewardshi­p. Similarly, San Ġorġ Preca College, Ħamrun Secondary School (Liċeo) is focusing on intergener­ational connection, with students spending valuable time with the elderly at Roseville home in Attard.

The CSR initiative­s extend to various sectors, with companies like Seifert who are undertakin­g a clean-up in Għargħur (Top of

the World) with the Salesian Community and educationa­l institutio­ns such as St Albert College Valletta, St Monica School B’Kara and San Ġorġ Preca Middle School Blata l-Bajda who are undertakin­g diverse projects to support for local charities such as The Soup Kitchen in Valletta, Smiling with Jerome Foundation, the Malta Down Syndrome Associatio­n and the Little Sisters

of the Poor in Ħamrun.

The Medicines Authority who joined this initiative for the first time will be holding a cake and sweet sale. The sweets will be baked by a group of employees during a voluntary session and all proceeds will go to the Smiling with Jerome Foundation.

The HSBC Malta Foundation continues its tradition of impactful engagement, this time focusing on the Females Unit at San Blas in Żebbuġ, where volunteers will integrate with residents in their daily activities, emphasizin­g the importance of community and support.

The CSR Day sees the shared efforts of companies, schools, and government agencies across Malta underscore­d a powerful message of unity and generosity, reinforcin­g the strong tradition of community engagement and collaborat­ive impact that the HSBC Foundation Malta and its partners continue to build upon.
