The Pink Fashion Show makes epic return
Flowers, flowing wine, and fashion: here’s what went down at the baroque masterpiece that’s Palazzo Parisio.
The sprawling gardens of Naxxar’s Palazzo Parisio were the setting for the latest edition of The Pink Fashion Show – one of Malta’s fashion scene’s most highly-anticipated events.
Organised by The Times of Malta’s very-own Fiona Galea Debono and Veronica Grech Sant, the spring/summer edition of the event showcased clothes by many of the brands available at the Sicilia Outlet Village. This vast outdoor mall has become a firm favourite with local shoppers and fashionistas, who often flock to the Commune of Agira in Sicily, to get their hands on designer wear that’s hard to come by on the island.
With this being the first time that Sicilia Outlet Village brought its wares to Malta, the event was really well-attended, with around 350 guests making their way to the baroque palazzo in the early evening. These included stylist and momager Carina Camilleri, content creators Sarah Zerafa and Caroline Paris, presenter Colin Fitz, and Sunday Circle editor Ramona Depares, among many others.
While catching up and networking in what was one of the first Pink Fashion Shows of the post-COVID era, guests were treated to free-flowing wine, plenty of decadent finger food, and other mouth-watering drinks and desserts. These were provided by Cantine Fina, Magnum, Ocean Spray, and, of course, the Palazzo Parisio kitchen.
The whole event took place in the much-loved historic gardens, which looked meticulous with their canopies of springblooming flowers and well-pruned shrubs, under and among which hundreds of chairs lined up the four-part catwalk.
Taking to it were 24 Supernova models, who, under the care of Marisa Grima and Noelene Miggiani, showcased outfits from the popular shopping village.
The looks from the night ranged from casualwear to evening wear, with the outfits offering inspiration for any situation, be it office attire, sportswear, or bold looks for a night out of the town. In fact, denim, cotton shirts, and sneakers mingled with high-heels and flowing dresses in a feast of seasonal colours, like reds, greens, pinks, and blues, as well as plenty of timeless colours that are a staple in every wardrobe.
Naturally, none of this could have taken place without the huge team working tirelessly to ensure the event went ahead
without any glitches. This included people from L’Oreal for the make-up, Alberto from Niumee and Style Lounge Hair Salon for hair, and Alistair Floral Design for the floral creations that adorned parts of the garden and which some of the models carried during the show. Moreover, Form added furniture touches to the palace’s gardens and artist Stephanie Borg enhanced the scene with her creations.
As is customary for the Pink Fashion Show, attendees also received a goodie bag full of gifts from the numerous sponsors that also helped make the night possible, which apart from some mentioned above also included Air Malta, BOV, BOV Asset Management, and Frezyderm. The event was also supported by the Maltese-Italian Chamber of Commerce, and was attended by a sizeable number of fashion, events, and news photographers who took pictures of the models, the guests, the setting, and the fashion.
This was indeed another Pink Fashion Show to remember, and it continues to cement the event’s notoriety for choosing stunning locations and throwing a great party full of fashion and fun.
