The 15th consultative meeting of the foreign affairs ministries of the Russian Federation and Mongolia was held in Ulaanbaatar this week, to discuss consular affairs cooperation, protecting people’s rights, and other cooperation between the two countries.

The meetings delegations were led by Direc- tor of the Consular Department of the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ya.Ariunbold and Vice Director of the Consular Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Latifov Nail Mazgutovich.

The sides discussed the implementation of agreements that have been reached, the current sta- tus of consular affairs cooperation, and MongoliaRussia cross-border operations.

During Latifov’s meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs B.Battsetseg, the officials exchanged views on improving Mongolia-Russia cross-border operations, because the number of the two country’s citizens crossing the border has increased in recent years. The sides discussed working together to improve the operations of the Altanbulag border checkpoint in Mongolia and the Kyakhta border checkpoint in Russia to provide the two country’s travelers with fast and accessible services.
