New hospital to be built in Songino-Khairkhan District
Under the Health Sector Development-4 program, the Ministry of Health has signed a contract with the Austrian company Vamed Engeneering, which was selected for a tender for equipment distribution for a model hospital to be built in Songino-Khairkhan District.
Health Sector Development-4 is financed by non-refundable aid from Asian Development Bank, and includes plans to build seven to eight hospitals offering specialized medical services, each with the capacity to offer inpatient services to 150- 200 patients in facilities meeting international standards.
The new hospital in Songino-Khairkhan District will be designed with the capacity to serve more than 47,000 people, including emergency medical services, and accommodate another 10,000 inpatients annually. The hospital will be equipped with new, modern medical equipment.
Secretary of State D. Ochirbat said that Vamed Engeneering will have a budget of 24.8 million USD, and that the state is confident that the project will be complete on time and result in a high quality facility.
