-

The third political consultative meeting of the foreign affairs ministries of Netherlands and Mongolia was held on November 10 in The Hague, Netherlands, to discuss political affairs cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting’s delegations were led by State Secretary of the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs D.Davaasuren and Director of Asia and Oceania Department of the Ministry of Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs Peter Potman.

During the meeting, the sides discussed ways to improve economic cooperation, trade and investment, as well as boost cooperation in agriculture, tourism, water management, and climate change. They noted the importance of implementing further projects and programs, which will be carried out in Mongolia in connection with the United Nations’ 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and the Mongolia-European Union Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Partnership.

Potman pointed out that as Netherlands investors and entrepreneurs have limited access to information about the Mongolian investment and legal environments, Mongolia needs to introduce Netherlands businesses to possible areas for investment that will help improve economic collaboration between the two countries.

The officials noted the importance of organizing the political consultative meeting annually, and agreed to host the fourth political consultative meeting in Ulaanbaatar next year.

Netherlands officials stressed that a business and political delegates will attend the fourth meeting to study business possibilities and collaboration opportunities with Mongolian entrepreneurs.

They agreed to regularly organize consultative meetings between the two countries’ foreign affairs ministries, and discussed issues regarding Mongolian citizens living in the Netherlands.

The parties also exchanged views on global and regional issues.
