EGSCHIGLEN TO PER­FORM AT FAJR MU­SIC FES­TI­VAL

Egschiglen, a cel­e­brated Mon­go­lian folk band, will be per­form­ing a con­cert dur­ing the 33rd Fajr In­ter­na­tional Mu­sic Fes­ti­val in Iran, the or­ga­niz­ers an­nounced on De­cem­ber 30. Over 90 per­for­mances by 85 bands will be go­ing on stage in dif­fer­ent sec­tions of the 33rd Fajr Mu­sic Fes­ti­val open­ing in Tehran on Jan­uary 10, 2018, the direc­tor of the fes­ti­val Hamidreza Nur­bakhsh said.

The in­ter­na­tional sec­tion will also have ac­tive par­tic­i­pa­tion with a va­ri­ety of mu­sic from dif­fer­ent na­tions by groups com­ing from Mon­go­lia, Sene­gal, Ja­pan, Ser­bia, China and Slove­nia.

Egschiglen is one of Mon­go­lia’s few tra­di­tional bands that en­joy a world­wide fame. They’ve been per­form­ing since 1991 and went on tours to 12 Euro­pean coun­tries in 1992. Egschiglen has been work­ing hard on de­vel­op­ing their con­tem­po­rary mu­sic us­ing Mon­go­lia and Cen­tral Asian tra­di­tional in­stru­ments in Ger­man.

The band fea­tur­ing Tu­men­ba­yar Mig­dorj, Tu­mur­sai­han Yanlav, Uu­gan­baatar Tsend-Ochir, Amar­tuw­shin Baasan­dorj and Saran­gerel Tserevsamba, and has per­formed at sev­eral in­ter­na­tional events and fes­ti­vals be­fore.

Egschiglen is sched­uled to per­form at Tehran’s Ru­daki Hall on Jan­uary 11.

The 33rd Fajr In­ter­na­tional Mu­sic Fes­ti­val will be held in Tehran from Jan­uary 10 to 20.
