Urban development minister discusses cooperation projects with Chinese ambassador
Minister of Construction and Urban Development Kh.Badelkhan met with China’s Ambassador to Mongolia Xing Haiming on Monday to discuss the projects and programs that will be implemented by soft loans and non-refundable aid provided by the government of China.
Minister Kh.Badelkhan noted that the government of Mongolia decided to fund 300 million USD from a soft loan of one billion USD provided by China’s Export-Import Bank to the government of Mongolia to renovate of Ulaanbaatar’s Waste Water Treatment Plant, which is scheduled to kick off within the second season of 2018. The minister asked asked Ambassador Xing to support accelerating the granting of the Chinese soft loan.
The two officials also discussed possible areas for launching service center micro sub-centers that will provide ger district residents with water and heat under the government’s measures to improve engineering infrastructure in ger district, and financing to build a temporary housing for 1,008 families.
They exchanged views on establishing a memorandum of understanding between Mongolia’s Agency on Land Affairs, Geodesy and Cartography and China’s National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geo-Information.
At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Xing stated that he will urgently convey the Mongolian government’s request to the Chinese government.
