13 parties to run in October poll

-

The General Election Committee’s (GEC) board met on August 9 to review approvals of political parties to enroll for the October 7 poll in Khentii Province.

Some 14 parties made their requests to run in the upcoming poll and submitted the essential documents outlined in the law to the GEC before the deadline.

The board suspended Civil-Will and Green Party from running in the poll as the party did not attach a campaign expenditure report with its documents to the GEC, which was in violation of Section 57.3 of the Law on Elections, and accepted the remaining parties’ requests.

Section 57.3 of the Law on Elections states that political parties and coalitions have to deliver their campaign expenditure reports 45 days prior to the election date.

The following parties are able to run in the Khentii poll.
