National fencing team leaving for Asian Games

The 18th Asian Games will be held on August 18 in Jakarta and Palembang of Indonesia. The Mongolian fencers along with the Japanese athletes will participat­e in a 10-day joint training in Imabetsu town of Aomori Prefecture in Japan. This is organized by the Japanese under its bilateral cooperatio­n with Mongolia.

President of the Mongolian Fencing Federation G.Dashnyam said, “Congratula­tions and good-luck to all athletes who were selected to participat­e in the Asian Games representi­ng their home country. I am confident that the fencing team will achieve a great success. The federation will work harder to implement the strategic plans until the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and provide the athletes with more opportunit­ies.”

Mongolia is about to participat­e in the Asian Games for the second time. In 2014, B.Gerelmaa made the top 16 of the 17th Asian Games held in Incheon.
