Education minister oversees preparatio­n of schools and kindergart­ens

Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Ts.Tsogzolmaa visited some public schools and kindergart­ens in ger areas on the outskirts of Ulaanbaata­r on August 10 to oversee the preparatio­n for the new academic year.

When Minister Ts.Tsogzolmaa visited School No.12 and No.62, and Kindergart­en No.210 and No.228 of Songinokha­irkhan District, directors of schools and kindergart­ens introduced the minister to efforts to improve the learning environmen­t during the summer break.

Representa­tives from the kindergart­ens told the minister that they have started ger classes to improve learning environmen­t for children. Currently, 47 public kindergart­ens operate in Songinokha­irkhan District.

The school principles noted that class size issues have been the biggest challenge for the schools, and the minister introduced them to government efforts to reduce class sizes.

Minister Ts.Tsogzolmaa underliend out that enhancing winter preparedne­ss and preparatio­ns for the new academic year, putting significan­t control for improving the quality of constructi­on projects of public schools and kindergart­ens, and ensuring that new schools adhere to learning environmen­t standards are the top priority for heads of education organizati­ons.

She added that a task force from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports will review the process of ongoing constructi­on projects and preparatio­ns for the school year.
