Education minister oversees preparation of schools and kindergartens
Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Ts.Tsogzolmaa visited some public schools and kindergartens in ger areas on the outskirts of Ulaanbaatar on August 10 to oversee the preparation for the new academic year.
When Minister Ts.Tsogzolmaa visited School No.12 and No.62, and Kindergarten No.210 and No.228 of Songinokhairkhan District, directors of schools and kindergartens introduced the minister to efforts to improve the learning environment during the summer break.
Representatives from the kindergartens told the minister that they have started ger classes to improve learning environment for children. Currently, 47 public kindergartens operate in Songinokhairkhan District.
The school principles noted that class size issues have been the biggest challenge for the schools, and the minister introduced them to government efforts to reduce class sizes.
Minister Ts.Tsogzolmaa underliend out that enhancing winter preparedness and preparations for the new academic year, putting significant control for improving the quality of construction projects of public schools and kindergartens, and ensuring that new schools adhere to learning environment standards are the top priority for heads of education organizations.
She added that a task force from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports will review the process of ongoing construction projects and preparations for the school year.
