1 new COVID-19 case reported

During the regular briefing of the Health Ministry on June 25, Head of the National Center for Infectious Disease D.Nyamkhuu made updates on COVID19 infection in the country.

“Yesterday (on June 25), 333 suspected cases were tested for the coronaviru­s in four laboratori­es and one of them came out positive. The patient is a 64yearold woman who was evacuated through the SeattleUla­anbaatar flight on June 24. Also, one person recovered from the coronaviru­s and was discharged from the NCID and transferre­d to the next stage of medical observatio­n facility.”

“A total of 216 confirmed cases were reported in Mongolia, 169 of whom have recovered. Of the 47 patients, 41 were in mild condition and six were in serious condition. This morning, 114 passengers arrived from Russia.”

Three suspected cases have been isolated at the NCID and we are preparing to receive the next round of evacuees.”

No new was reported on June 24, and 10 patients had recovered after 28 to 41 days of treatment. Specifical­ly, on June 23, a total of 249 tests including secondary tests of eight people in quarantine facilities, and first tests of 16 people randomly selected from the population, nine people in quarantine, 212 truck drivers that came into the country through Altanbulag and ZamiinUud border checkpoint­s, and four people in quarantine in Selenge Province were carried out and the test results all came out negative.

The 10 recovered patients including seven men and three women aged 19 to 35.
