State Duma ratifies bill on treaty on friendly relations between Mongolia and Russia
The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted a bill on ratification of the Treaty on Friendly Relations and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Mongolia and Russia on June 23.
The treaty was signed by presidents of Mongolia and Russia, Kh.Battulga and Vladimir Putin on September 3, 2019, during the latter’s official visit to Mongolia, and submitted for ratification to the State Duma on June 8, 2020.
Parliament ratified the treaty at its plenary session on November 29, 2019, and the treaty will come into force on the day the sides exchange letters of ratification.
The treaty is an international agreement that respects Mongolia’s independence, sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, inviolability of borders, and human rights.
According to the treaty, the two sides agreed to expand the traditional and goodneighborly friendly relations established between the two countries in the framework of a comprehensive strategic partnership in all fields, including politics, economy, trade, business, infrastructure, and humanity.
