Cost: R60 per person (SADC citizens) and R10 per car. Free for kids under 16. If you don’t have your own 4x4 for the last bit of sand track, you can catch a ride in the park’s 4x4 taxi for R130 per person. Gate times: Sunrise to sunset (earlier/later when camping at Sesriem). Water: You’re not a gemsbok! Always carry at least a litre of water with you when climbing a big dune or when walking to Dead Vlei. Dehydration is a short cut to having no fun at all. Sun protection: Wear a hat and a lightweight, long-sleeved shirt, and apply sunscreen. Wear closed shoes, otherwise the sand might burn your feet.
