AFTERNOON

1.02 pm.

In the heat of the day it’s best to sit still in the shade. The wind is blowing so we find refuge inside the NWR (Namibia Wildlife Resorts) restaurant at Sesriem. We order burgers, cold drinks and Magnum ice creams.

3.10 pm.

We enter the desert again, and follow the tar road all the way to its end. Along the way we see gemsbok and ostrich.

4.20 pm.

The Ford Everest handles the final few kilometres of sand with ease. Arriving at Sossusvlei
