From the first Sunday in April to the first Sunday in September, Namibian clocks are one hour behind South African clocks. This will affect the border post times listed here.
Expect delays at border posts – add two hours to your itinerary for every border crossing, even if it normally takes only 45 minutes. Smaller border posts are usually much faster than those on busier routes.
Even if a town has a filling station, it may not always have fuel. Fill your tank wherever you can.
As a precaution, travel with a variety of debit and credit cards, such as MasterCard, Visa and Maestro, as some ATMs and pay points don’t accept certain cards.
