Man attacked and raped
The police are hunting for two men after a 21-year-old man was allegedly attacked and raped in Windhoek’s Okuryangava on Saturday. According to the police, the man who was walking home was allegedly attacked by two unknown men who were armed with knives.
“The men allegedly undressed him and had sexual intercourse with him without his consent and thereafter robbed him of his cell phone.
No arrest and recovery of the cell phone. An investigation is launched with the genderbased violence office. Police investigation continues,” read the crime report. Another rape case was also reported at Rehoboth after a 50-year-old man allegedly sexually molested a nine-year-old minor girl over a period of time. The man is reportedly the grandfather of the victim.
“The incident was only reported on 26 September by the victim’s paternal grandmother who discovered the rape. The suspect is however not yet arrested and investigation continues,” said the police. Another rape case was also reported on Friday at Nuwerus location in Aranos after a 16-yearold girl was allegedly raped by a 25-year-old man. “It is alleged that the suspect grabbed the victim from behind and had sexual intercourse with her under coercive circumstances.” The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in court.
In Ohangwena, a 48-year-old man is due to appear in court today after he was arrested for allegedly raping his 10-year-old stepdaughter and a nine-year-old girl who is also a neighbour. The alleged crimes reportedly took place between August and September this year.
