Man attacked and raped

The police are hunting for two men after a 21-year-old man was allegedly attacked and raped in Windhoek’s Okuryangav­a on Saturday. According to the police, the man who was walking home was allegedly attacked by two unknown men who were armed with knives.

“The men allegedly undressed him and had sexual intercours­e with him without his consent and thereafter robbed him of his cell phone.

No arrest and recovery of the cell phone. An investigat­ion is launched with the genderbase­d violence office. Police investigat­ion continues,” read the crime report. Another rape case was also reported at Rehoboth after a 50-year-old man allegedly sexually molested a nine-year-old minor girl over a period of time. The man is reportedly the grandfathe­r of the victim.

“The incident was only reported on 26 September by the victim’s paternal grandmothe­r who discovered the rape. The suspect is however not yet arrested and investigat­ion continues,” said the police. Another rape case was also reported on Friday at Nuwerus location in Aranos after a 16-yearold girl was allegedly raped by a 25-year-old man. “It is alleged that the suspect grabbed the victim from behind and had sexual intercours­e with her under coercive circumstan­ces.” The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in court.

In Ohangwena, a 48-year-old man is due to appear in court today after he was arrested for allegedly raping his 10-year-old stepdaught­er and a nine-year-old girl who is also a neighbour. The alleged crimes reportedly took place between August and September this year.
