Shiimi names new RFA board
Finance minister Iipumbu Shiimi has appointed a new board of directors for the Road Fund Administration (RFA), with effect from 1 October 2020 to 30 September 2023.
Finance ministry spokesp e r son Tonat e n i Shidhudhu in a statement said that the newly appointed members were selected in consultation with the Ministry of Public Enterprises as per the provisions of the Public Enterprises Governance Act 1 of 2019, adding that their main functions are to oversee the strategic scorecard of RFA and to implement the mandate of the institution.
“Due regard has also been given to the required skills and experience needed relative to the mandated and business imperatives of the Road Fund Administration,” he added.
The new board comprises of Emma Haiyambo, who will serve as chairperson, James Mnyupe, Isdor Angula, Oshoveli Hivelua and Melanie Tjijenda.
The finance minister, according to the statement, congratulated the new board members and pledged continued support to RFA in fulfilling its mandate.
“The selection of the new board was done on the basis of their expertise and relevance to the sector, and I am confident that they will be able to take the fund to new heights,” said Shiimi.
He also commended the outgoing board for the service they have rendered for the past three years, which according to him resulted in the strengthening of the fund’s financial position and its impact on the economy. - Nampa
