NEFF backs AR candidate for Oshakati West
OSHAKATI - The Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters (NEFF) commander-in-chief, Epafras Mukwiilongo says his party will support Pau Pau Kathanga, an independent candidate at Oshakati West constituency during the regional council and local authority elections.
Mukwiilongo announced his party’s support to Kathanga duringtheNEFFelectioneering drive held at Oshakati in the Oshana region on Sunday. Kathanga is an independent candidate under the umbrella of the pressure group, the Affirmative Repositioning movement.
According to Mukwiilongo, NEFF is also backing another Oshana indep endent candidate, Kanisius Shapota, who is contesting in the regional council election for the Okatana constituency.
“Out of 57 local authorities ( LAs) and 121 regional councils (RCs), NEFF has decided to participate in eight LAs and initially three RCs before one RC lost out due to the candidate withdrawal,” cited Mukwiilongo.
A member of the NEFF leadership, Abraham Ndumbu, who was supposed to be the party’s candidate for the regional councillor position at Okatana, was withdrawn last weekduetoallegedmisconduct. NEFF is now contesting in only two RCs at Elim constituency in the Omusati region and Oshikango in the Ohangwena region, where Paulus Shikwaya and Festus Shaduva are the party’s candidates, respectively.
In the LAs, Mukwiilongo said NEFF has fielded candidates to contest for the seats at Aroab, Oshikuku, Oshakati, Swakopmund, Ondangwa, Ongwediva, Opuwo and Windhoek.
He called on members, supporters and sympathisers to be disciplined and loyal to the organisation and its ideologies, adding that NEFF stands for equal land distribution, proper health sanitation, economic prosperity and corruption-free governance.
“Let us go out and campaign professionally, don’t go and fight fellow Namibians, tell them Namibia belongs to all of us and encourage them to vote for NEFF as solution to the economic crisis in the country,” said Mukwiilongo. -Nampa
