Unbeaten Haney masterfull­y defeats Cuba’s Gamboa

Devin Haney retained the WBC lightweigh­t belt with a one-sided twelve round unanimous points decision over former IBF and WBA featherwei­ght champion Yuriorkis Gamboa at the at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida on Saturday night.

The 21-year-old Haney 25-0; 15 was making the second defence of his belt and dominated throughout against the 39-year-old Gamboa 30-4; 18. The scores were 118-109 and 120-107 twice. Gamboa was deducted a point in the eleventh round for holding.

On the same card, IBF No 6 and WBC No 9 heavyweigh­t Filip Hrgovic 12-0; 10 won on a fifth technical knockout against Rydell Booker 26-4; 13. The time was 0.43.

Luis “Kingg Kong”g Ortiz wins in 45 seconds

No 3 rated WBC heavyweigh­t Luis “King Kong” Ortiz 32-2; 27 stopped Alexander “The Great” Flores 18-3-1; 16 in 45 seconds of the first round on Saturday night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
