‘I will be your servant, not honourable’
Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) candidate for the Windhoek East constituency Brian Black says - if elected in this month’s regional council elections - he will continue fighting corruption, crime, excessive greed and maladministration without fear or favour.
Black, who will be contesting for the position against Swapo’s Felix Tjozongoro, Pieter Senekal of the Popular Democratic Movement (PDM), Brunhilde Cornelius of the Republican Party and Landless People’s Movement candidate Bruce Jacques, said Namibia is in serious need of good leadership.
He believes that if given the chance, the IPC is determined to bring about that much needed transformation.
“I will always listen to your needs and act on them, I will listen to community needs and community interest will always enjoy my priority. I will always be your servant and not your honourable,” said Black who is also the party’s national chairperson.
He said, once elected, his key focus areas will be to serve and listen to the needs of Windhoek East residents while remaining focused on the fight against corruption as well as advocating for development.
“I will also ensure inclusivity and a sense of belonging on all socio-economic platforms for all Namibians irrespective of race, colour or ethnicity,” he said.
Furthermore, Black also promised to ensure that all youth employment and scholarships in the public sector are awarded strictly on merit.
“My exposure has taken me far and wide over the years, I know how the world works. I am a member of the Institute of Directors of Southern Africa ( IODSA), and a proud recipient of the Rotar y International’s Paul Harris Fellowship Award for ‘Service above Self ’,” said t he renowned businessman.
One of the recent projects he brought to fruition, he said, is the establishment of the Kaapsfarm Namibian Police Station along the B6 road, which was partially funded by the Kaapsfarm community members.
