Two killed at Ohangwena on Monday

Mukete-Sibolile. Mukete-Sibolile said the deceased had allegedly overpowere­d the suspect and the suspect drew a knife and stabbed the deceased in the chest.

The suspect has been arrested and was expected to appear in court on Thursday. In the second incident, a 38-year-old man succumbed to injuries at the Oshakati Intermedia­te Hospital after he was stabbed at Oilyakeko in Ondobe constituen­cy.

The man was allegedly stabbed once in the rib and twice on the left shoulder, Mukete- Sibolile said. A 24-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday morning and is expected to appear in court on

Thursday. According to Mukete-Sibolile, the suspect and his acquaintan­ce went to shebeens at Oilyateko on Monday evening.

Upon arrival there, they allegedly joined five other men. “Somewhere during their discussion the suspect and his acquaintan­ce started running and the deceased and another man chased after the two,” said MuketeSibo­lile.

The discussion that that led the two to flee has not been establishe­d.

The deceased allegedly caught up with the suspect and the suspect stabbed the deceased.

The deceased was taken to Eenhana police station and was later transferre­d to Oshakati Intermedia­te Hospital where he died.

Meanwhile, the police in Ohangwena region are investigat­ing a case of culpable homicide following an accident at Oshiweda in the Eenhana-Ondobe area.

The deceased who was alone in the car was allegedly thrown out of the vehicle and the vehicle landed on him.
