Two killed at Ohangwena on Monday

The suspect has been arrested and was expected to appear in court on Thursday. In the second incident, a 38-year-old man succumbed to injuries at the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital after he was stabbed at Oilyakeko in Ondobe constituency.

The man was allegedly stabbed once in the rib and twice on the left shoulder, Mukete- Sibolile said. A 24-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday morning and is expected to appear in court on

Thursday. According to Mukete-Sibolile, the suspect and his acquaintance went to shebeens at Oilyateko on Monday evening.

Upon arrival there, they allegedly joined five other men. “Somewhere during their discussion the suspect and his acquaintance started running and the deceased and another man chased after the two,” said MuketeSibolile.

The discussion that that led the two to flee has not been established.

The deceased allegedly caught up with the suspect and the suspect stabbed the deceased.

The deceased was taken to Eenhana police station and was later transferred to Oshakati Intermediate Hospital where he died.

Meanwhile, the police in Ohangwena region are investigating a case of culpable homicide following an accident at Oshiweda in the Eenhana-Ondobe area.

The deceased who was alone in the car was allegedly thrown out of the vehicle and the vehicle landed on him.
