The rise of Sixer Vundakan

At first, sensationa­l kwaito singer Rikius Haimbondi well-known as Sixer Vundakan was exposed to the music limelight when he featured the talented acclaimed kwaito star Exit on the song ‘Kotoka’ and ‘Onhingo’, which took the entire kwaito fans in awe during 2018.

The songs were part of his first album, titled ‘The Beginning of My Kingdom’ released to introduce himself in the local music industry as an upcoming artist.

The singer recently released his 18-track second studio album, titled ‘Omxupi Alya’ombe’, which means the impossible has become possible.

Sixer Vundakan album is produced by Philz K, M Jay and Andrew on the Beat, featured by various local artists such as D-Kandjafa, Locosounds, Makilla, Dj Vuyo, Neslow and Dizzo.

ccording to the singer, he titled his new album ‘Omxupi Alyaómbe’ realising the situation is changing every day, and what people use to see in the past is different from the present. “This means the impossible is becoming possible, and bad things are turning into goods,” says Sixer Vundakan.

On the album, one can find good melodies of kwaito and Afropop, especially on Track 3, ‘Omxupi Aly’ombe’, which talks more about how things are changing from bad to good.

Apa, track 5, on the album featuring Makilla and D Kandjafa, emphasise more teamwork and collaborat­ion. “To fight any battle in this world, teamwork is needed to achieve our goals,” explains Sixer Vundakan.

Another hit track on the album is ‘Andaaluka’ (I am coming back), which talks more about hard work and dedication.

Currently, Sixer has released a music video of Apa on YouTube, which was shot by Top Class. Furthermor­e, he will be releasing another video for Omxupi Aly’ombe this December.

“The journey is still long, and my ambition is to work and push to the top. For now, I am willing to work with anybody who is doing good in the music industry,” he ended.
