Women of the world cry out

-

I am a woman, a woman I am created by God, a part of man one among many, blessed by God with the gift to conceive the human race.

I give birth in pain. So much pain over and over again. I bear many strains to increase the human race. Blood of my blood, flesh of my flesh. So that man and woman shall always inhabit the earth. Without me, children will cease to be born. United with man, I am an important part of the Master’s plan.

I am a companion friend, mother, lover a burden bearer, a burden sharer.

A nurse, a teacher, homemaker, to keep the home together.

A leader, a radical light. I am uniquely made, a wonderful and blessed creation.

Women and men together in weakness

There is a woman who is tired of acting weak when she knows she is strong, and there is a man who is tired of appearing strong when he feels vulnerable. There is a woman who is tired of acting humble, and there is a man, burdened with the constant expectation of knowing everything. There is a woman who is tired of being called an emotional female. And there is a man who is denied the right to be weak and to be gentle. There is a woman who is called unfeminine when she competes, and there is a man for whom competition is the only way to prove masculinity. There is a woman who is tired of being a sex object. And there is a man who must worry about his potency. There is a woman who feels tied down by her children. And there is a man who is denied the full pleasure of shared parenthood. There is a woman who is denied meaningful employment or equal pay.

And there is a man who must bear full financial responsibility for another human.

Bringing the promise of New Community there is a woman who takes a step in her own liberation. And there is a man who finds the way to freedom is made a little easier.

This is a tribute to all the women of our motherland. This is to all the women who put their lives on the line and give up their plate for the next person.
