Walking hand tractors to be locally assembled

THE ‘Quick Hand’ tractors and cultivator­s are making their mark in the Namibian market, mainly due to their compact nature and ease of operation. The ‘QUICK’ brand walking tractors, which come fitted with Kubota Diesel engine for the Quick Zena super power and Quick G1000 Boxer.

The Quick cultivator ‘Cakar Baja” as it is well known comes fitted with a Honda GX 200 engine. Tractors are new and they all come with standard manufactur­ers warranties and guarantees.

The tractors and cultivator­s come with standard fitted equipment such as tyres, operator seat, rear-wheel, tail skid, rotary blade assembly, jack hook etc. The cultivator­s come with standard hitch pin, universal hitch, resistant bar and rubber tires, iron wheels, and a ridger.

Additional equipment for all appliances will be available on request. The tractors and Cultivator­s are suitable for paddy fields, smallholdi­ngs, farms, dry fields, orchards, vegetable gardens and slight hilly land.

Namgonell Import-Export, Marketing and Sales Consultant­s, a Namibian company has recently entered into a sole representa­tive agreement with an Indonesian company that manufactur­es the Quick Hand tractor brands - to have the items available in Namibia.

The management of Namgonell has a two-dimensiona­l approach; the tractors and cultivator­s will be imported in an SKD format, in order to be assembled in Namibia so as to enhance technology transfer.

The same assembly plant will have a focused technical after-sale service remote help centre to assist and capacitate the end user with training, problem identifica­tion and fixing of the equipment.

Service kits to facilitate maintenanc­e will be available at an affordable price tag. Secondly, the tractors are to be widely distribute­d into Namibia with the vision of job creation with a slogan “every piece of land a possible SME Agri-business.

In this manner, farmers will not only be able to cultivate for their own consumptio­n but also to trade in the local formal and informal markets.

The Managing Director of Namgonell Nelson Lambo Chipeio told AgriToday that: “The good rains over our country, Namibia, is a blessing from our creator and is giving us the certainty that we are on the right track.

“If everyone can produce, we will have enough to consume, store and possible export our crops,” he said.

Chipeio is passionate about this venture and foresees a bright future for Namibia in this sector, adding that concerted effort can turn “the Land of the Brave into a ‘Breadbaske­t’ of Africa.”

All interested parties should contact Namgonell via e-mail. Future clients will be provided with a standard questionna­ire aimed at gathering informatio­n pertaining to one’s Agricultur­al business or intent.

The same will be used to create a database of AGRI-SME and their current needs. This will also enable Namgonell to provide targeted interventi­ons and provide the necessary advice and assistance on availabili­ty of funding and loans to acquire our equipment seeds and fertilizer­s.

The company calls on commercial banks, the DBN through their SME department and the Agribank of Namibia to endorse the venture and assist clients willing to procure the walking tractors locally.
