Namibian coaches attend DFB virtual course
Eight Namibian A-licence football instructors will take part in an online German Football Federation (DFB) International Instructors course from 24 to 28 May 2021.
The course will be presented in partnership with the DFB and Botswana Football Association.
Confirming the course, NFA acting technical director Jacqui Shipanga said the course is vital for the development of the game.
“Our focus this year will be to ensure we fully equip our instructors and coach educators in order for them to be able to go to the regions next year and conduct various courses; we need to accelerate the NFA’s ‘Train the Trainers’ technical project,” Shipanga was quoted as saying on the NFA website.
Namibia will be represented by the following coaches: Willem Kapukare, who is a CAF instructor; Gerald Guther from Swakopmund, who is a NFA regional instructor; Woody Jacobs from Orlando Pirates (CAF/FIFA Instructor); Bobby Samaria (Interim Brave Warriors head coach); Collin Benjamin from the Hopsol Youth League (NFA Youth Instructor); Lucky Richter from Black Africa (NFA regional instructor); John Sikerete (NFA Regional Instructor) and Rodney Doeseb (NFA regional instructor).
Shipanga called for patience for those not part of the upcoming course, as they will still benefit.
“Our instructors will then visit various regions upon request and will be accompanied by young regional trainee instructors.”
The former Brave Gladiators coach stressed progress will be made even if it is slow and they need to ensure proper development takes place.
Other courses for this year include the goalkeepers’ refresher course; fitness and conditioning course; the NFPL/MTC administration and management course as well as the UEFA-NFA Women Super League.
“We, therefore, urge the coaches to get their CVs and documentation in order for these upcoming courses.”
