Mr and Miss Face of Namibia beauty contest prelims

The organisers of Mr and Miss Namibia held the preliminary competition last weekend at the Suburbs Hall in Windhoek. The contestants from across the country were given their last try to win over the judges and the audience before the finale night beckons.

The preliminary competition is the prejudging for the final pageant, where the winner will eventually be decided in August.

During the preliminary round, 30 deserving contestants out of 71 semi-finalists were selected to compete in the final pageant.

The male and female contestants paraded in their evening gowns and suits as the jury marked them based on their catwalks, confidence and grace.

The finalists to compete for the Mr Face of Namibia crown are Conzalec Shitalangaho, Cornelius Hangula, Hafeni Angala, Marii Karaerua, Mpumzi-Wame Mtimbe, Ndeutapo Mawila, Otniel Quental, Pandu

Masilo, Petrus Muronga, Pius Lili, Roger Mukuahima, Rujano Tjivikua, Vi-Ally Basson, Virimuje Uandara and Zion Angala.

In the Miss Face of Namibia category, the contestants are Albertina Haimbala, Angelica Varela, Ausha Abrahams, Gracia Kibangu, Bernelee Beukes, Damilola Beukes, Fadzai Machiwana, Jamie-Lee Loss, Jatjizavi Kavendjaa, Milcah Mokanja, Nandeekwa Tjiurutue, Rechelle Hamases, Shanizia Da Cunha, Simonia Kanyumara, and Winfidelia Shixwameni.

The nationwide pageant is organised by a non-profit organisation, established to create ambassadors for the youth of Namibia and to develop confidence, skills and talent.

“Mr and Miss Face of Namibia is an organisation that promotes the acceptance and inclusion of every Namibian, regardless of their background, beliefs, sexuality, culture and race. The organisation stands by the words ‘We are one and nothing else’,” explained Marchell Coetzee, founder and director of the pageant.

According to Coetzee, the two winners will be working with different charity organisations and they are expected to do motivational speaking at various schools and institutions across the country.

Themed ‘Face your dreams’, Mr and Miss face of Namibia is all set to be held on the 28th August 2021 at the National Theatre of Namibia (NTN), where Angela Hangula and Phillip Mumbala will crown their successors at the end of the event finale.
