Mandela’s dad still hopeful for his return
KEETMANSHOOP - Nelson Nakale, father of the missing Spencer Mandela Nakale (4) said he remains hopeful that his son will return one day to reunite with his family.
This was his stance during an interview with New Era yesterday.
“I will never give up hope that my loving boy will be found by somebody,” an emotional Nakale narrated. The family now decided to put up posters and flyers at public places in Lüderitz and countrywide as a means to inform the general public in case they happen to see Spencer.
“We furthermore want to place suggestion boxes at strategic places in the harbour town in case somebody wants to come forward on the basis
of anonymity,” he said.
The father continued that his heart is still bleeding, and the pain is unbearable at times when thinking of Mandela.
Nakale and his wife are attending therapy sessions with social workers.
“My strong message to other parents out there is to take good care of their children, and always put them in the care of trustworthy people. Children should never trust strangers if approached to accompany them or being lured with gifts or goodies,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, //Kharas police commander David Indongo said no progress has been made on the whereabouts of Mandela since his disappearance late last year.
“My office forwarded the petition handed over by Keetmanshoop residents earlier this year, demanding more action from the police to find the boy, to our headquarters. But we did not receive any feedback on the way forward in terms of what further action should be taken,” he added.
