- ■ Staff Reporter

With just a couple of days before 150 riders embark on the first-ever PSG Ride the Ridges event, excitement is building up for this epic mountain bike adventure geared for the beautiful scenic ridges surrounding Windhoek this weekend.

The event, which is co-sponsored by Capricorn Group and PSG, is expected to offer a world-class stage race with a unique experience for riders around the capital.

The three-day journey will comprise three stages, starting and ending at Heja Lodge. The first stage will see riders departing at around 15h00 tomorrow to take on some of the highest mountains surrounding Windhoek.

On Saturday, riders will take on the second stage, which will wind them around one of the highest ridge lines in Namibia on the Virgin Jeep Track that has never been ridden before.

The Virgin Jeep Track is spread out over three privately-owned farms and restricted access land. The last stage will commence on Sunday, where riders will be taking a shorter route through the scenic Las Vegas Namibia camp.

After each day of riding, all the mountain bikes will be cared for by the Cycletec technicians in the Tech Zone, and stored safely for the next day.

There will be waterpoints during all three stages, and a Rider Village at Heja Lodge will bring out the deeper essence of the PSG Ride the Ridges, with some great surprises waiting for the riders.

The Rider Village will host a Gin bar, Craft beer and good food, amongst many other eloquent stalls for riders and their families, friends as well as the general public to enjoy.

For the convenience of riders, a courtesy shuttle service has also been arranged to and from Heja Lodge, departing and arriving from Cycletec (Sam Nujoma drive) and PSG (c/o Thorer and Feld Street).
