KP Illest reflects on his musical career
… we couldn’t be more proud of him
Namibia’s favourite hip hop star KP Illest’s career has continued to take an upward trajectory that has us even more proud of him.
Just recently, the artist was featured in the YAGA News Magazine, where the story of his career and how he has risen up the ladder so fast came to be.
Speaking to the magazine, KP shared that growing up, his idol in the hip hop industry has been renowned artist Lil Wayne, amongst others, who have played a big role in informing the kind of artist he is today.
Not only that, he also shared that while starting out in the industry, he had to be creative with his music as a means to reach as many people as possible. True enough, his focus and hard work earned him quite a number of accolades and awards that only drove him to be a better artist each day.
What is even all the more interesting is when he shared that if he was never an artist or a musician, he would have been an audio engineer, adding that he has always been in love with the science that goes into making music.
Other than the many other projects he is part of and brand partnerships, it is clear his music means a lot to KP, and that he is always about pouring his soul into his art and everything else he does.
When asked to share some nuggets of wisdom to upcoming artists, KP Illest said: “For anyone trying to dive into the industry, make sure your mental health is strong enough to handle it cause being an artist is really hard and you need to be able to handle the strain that comes with fame – the good and bad. You need a thick skin before you dive into the music industry”.
The hip hop star also announced that his fans can expect a new music release by the end of March 2022, and as you can already imagine, this news is being received with a lot of excitement.
This is set to be a good year for him, and we cannot wait to see the great things he will be doing. If there was ever a doubt that KP is exactly who he thinks he is, then his story has definitely put those doubts to shame.
